A larger workshop in Tejgaon

Workshop with a press brake, perforated steel panels against a brick wall and a teak door leaf on trestles

Until this summer we built door and screen prototypes in a corridor behind the studio, one piece at a time, and sent anything larger straight to a fabricator. Our metal and joinery workshop has now moved to a ground-floor unit in the Tejgaon Industrial Area, with a press brake, a welding bay and enough floor to lay out a full-size stair.

What the workshop is for

Most of the work is testing rather than production. Before a door, screen or stair goes into a building, we make it at full size to check the joints, the finish and the tolerances, and to find out how it will be carried up the stairs and fixed on site.

  • Door prototypes and hardware trials
  • Test pieces of folded and perforated sheet
  • One-off pieces for our own projects
