Overview
Our concept
Two parts step down the slope: a heavy concrete base set into the hill for the bedrooms, and a light timber-and-steel pavilion above for living and eating. The verandah between them is the main room for most of the year.
Uniqueness
Because the lower floor is partly earth-sheltered, it stays cool through the hot months without air conditioning. Deep eaves and a steep corrugated roof throw Sylhet's heavy rain clear of the walls.

The verandah is the main room for most of the year, open to the trees on every side and shaded by the deep eaves.

Timber roof boarding spans between dark steel trusses, with high windows that let light in under the eaves.
